For the final release in the 2006 Cask Strength Programme we are delighted to be working
with Hardy Cognac, one of the most respected names from the world of fine French Cognac.
Following an extensive visit to their premises it was jointly agreed with Hardy the casks used
to mature their blend of Fins Bois and Petite Champagne Cognacs would provide the best
marriage with the Arran Single Malt. These casks, made of the finest oak from the Tronçais
forest in France, have been used for maturation over a period of 12 to 14 years in order to
produce Napoleon quality Cognac.
The Arran Malt has been finished in these casks for a period of 7 months in our own
warehouses during which time the whisky has taken on delightful floral notes with hints of
vanilla and Demerara sugar on the palate. |
