Chateau Fonplegade is located close to the medieval village of St Emilion which
is synonymous around the world with fine wine. The Grand Cru Classe wine produced
at this historic property is aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels selected
from eight of France's finest coopers. These same casks have subsequently been used
to mature The Arran Malt for a period of twelve months after the whisky was originally
stored in traditional oak casks for at least eight years. The new flavours added
to The Arran Malt by these casks are in perfect harmony with the intrinsic distillery
character.
