Domfront Calvados
Distillation in a column still finally stamps its strong character on Domfront Calvados,
which is particularly fruity and light when young, becoming more full-bodied, spicy
and muscular with age.
Count Louis de Lauriston, playing a federating role once again, became head of the
association set up to demand recognition for the new Calvados Domfrontais AOC. This
was finally obtained in 1997, ten months after his death. Today it lays down the
rules which ensure the specific character and quality of Domfront Calvados.
