The True Spirit of Arran – The hidden secret of Arran lies far back in the mists of time. The whisky stills of bygone centuries now only have legends and overgrown graves to mark the islanders’ struggles with the excise men.

But now after 150 years the Arran whisky has been reborn at Lochranza, and with it the spirit and enterprise of the island. Now it is a secret no more.

Arran malt whisky is a veritable breath of fresh air. Dry and light, with hints of vanilla and fruit, it is a product of the ideal climate with which Arran has been blessed. The foothills of Goat Fell, the ‘high place’ which is the meaning of the islan’s name, is the source of the distillery’s pure water. It is cleansed by the granite as it comes down from the hills and the atmosphere of clean, mountain air and fresh, sea breezes matures the malt to perfection.

This golden nectar is, in fact, a distintictive unpeated island whisky. Pure and soft, it is the true spirit of Arran.

At one time Arran whisky was acclaimed as the finest in all of Scotland. The arran malt is well on its way to claiming that crown again.
